demystified HIEROGLYPHICS is a haphazard collection of the writings of a crazy careless disorganized insomniac nineteen year-old. the parents of this particular Homo Sapien coined the term Sathish (Mayan for "End of the World")  to address him. although his ethnic origins are currently unknown, the CIA believes it to be in a remote town called kumbakonam, tamil nadu, india.

this teenager spent his formative years in the idyllic city of chennai, india. he graduated from the global indian international school, singapore and currently majors in computer science and engineering in the hong kong university of science and technology and is expected to graduate in 2015. 

he is the captain of the hkust english debate team, secretary of the live green! living learning community and the IT head of the hkust cricket society. he is a student rep in the hkust dean of engineering's external communications team and a member of the hkust student catering committee. he has been a student mentor in the servant operation leadership training program by IBM and has worked on 'dalvik-java bytecode translation' under professor shing chi cheung in hkust. he is currently on exchange at computer science and artificial intelligence laboratory at mit, massachusetts. he will be convenor of the 4th hong kong debate open 2013 at hkust in november 2013. find more details at www.hkdo2013.wix.com/hkdo.  

he can fluently converse in english, speak decent tanglish, understand hindi and recognize sanskrit. he attempted to pick up cantonese and is still in the "sikh jo faahn mein ah?" level.

he likes to indulge himself in current affairs, travelling, debating, reading, blogging, community service, mentoring, annoying friends, spamming facebook walls, watching tv shows, playing violin, programming, cricket, badminton, chess & monopoly. his favourite authors are aleksandr solzhenitysn, mario puzo  jeffrey archer, frederick forsyth, dan brown, arvind adiga, chetan bhagat, robert ludlum, jk rowling, junot diaz & sidney sheldon. his current bedmate is icon authored by frederick forsyth.

despite attempts by close friends to sink him in the ocean of carnivores, he remains, as of today, an A- vegetarian. he loves indian khana, korean kimchi, turkish, mexican & italian cuisine and certain aspects of authentic chinese food.
